CLICK HERE TO LISTEN: In this week’s edition of the Green & White Show with Joseph Haas & Jinx Grand, your hosts start the show with Mike Goodson’s arrest early Friday morning.  We go over the details of his arrest as well as the charges he faces.  We also give our take on how the league (and the organization) should react.  This offseason, the Jets signed Goodson to a three-year, $6.9 million contract.  Will his value to the offense or his contract have an influence on how the Jets discipline him?  We toss that question around, and a lot more.

In What Jets Said, we tackle comments from Chris Ivory, Antonio Cromartie & Quinton Coples.  Ivory seems confident at his chances of getting carries this season and being the first option at running back.  He also reflects on his time in a very crowded backfield in New Orleans.  Antonio Cromartie reflects on his former teammate, and the business decision by the Jets to trade him.  He discusses his new role on the team as a leader, and gives his take on teammates Dee Milliner & Kyle Wilson.  Has Cro grown up?  We get into that as well as comments by Quinton Coples, who was unimpressive during his first day in the weight room according to Rex Ryan.  How does the youngster respond to his coach’s comments, and his move from DE to OLB?

In Rumors, Roster & the Rest, we discuss our favorite paper bag sandwiches!  What?  We actually discuss Carolina Panthers WR Steve Smith’s comments about Mark Sanchez.  Steve Smith has always been an outspoken player, and he doesn’t hold back here either!  I don’t know if he’ll let David Garrard throw him a paper bag sandwich, but Garrard won’t be throwing anybody anything anytime soon as he announces his retirement earlier this week.  This trims the QB competition in camp from five to four.  Mark Sanchez and Geno Smith are clearly front-runners, but we get into the chances Greg McElroy has to win the job.  We close the segment with a review of the competition in the AFC East.  The Dolphins & Bills have made improvements to their rosters, while the Patriots are massaging Rob Gronkowski’s continuing injury woes.  Annnnd, do you think their should be a save statistic in the NFL?  We kick that one around as well.

In the Great Debate, your hosts are joined by Nolan Hack (@NolanHack) to discuss Geno Smith, and his ability to start in the NFL.  Can he start WEEK 1?  Should he?  You can find Nolan’s evaluations of the players selected by the New York Jets as well as those of many draft-eligible prospects, including EJ Manuel of the Bills, on HCoftheNYJ.com and HaasStyleInterpretations.com.
