It’s still the Green & White Show with Joseph Haas (@JerseyHaas) & Amiri Tulloch (@AmiriTulloch) and we’re still bringing you that football Sunday feel every Saturday afternoon!!  We kick things off with a discussion on players making the tough transition from current player, to former NFL player with our guest Sharee Graham, a Consultant with the NFLPA.  Ms. Graham is also Editor of How We Live Magazine as well as host of The Inside Wire, a sports radio show.  We tackle topics from education, to potential career options for both the popular, and not-so popular NFL players, after they decide hang ‘em up.

In What Jets Said, we hear from HC Rex Ryan, again being supportive of one of his players.  Reports have Mark Sanchez throwing with “good velocity”, and we wonder if he still has a place on this football team.  Would a healthy Mark Sanchez help the Jets?  If he restructured his contract, should the Jets consider bringing him back?  We answer both questions.

We continue or QB conversation, tossing around names like Josh McCown and Mike Vick, which have been floated by those in the know.  McCown turned heads while subbing in for Jay Cutler in Chicago, and Mike Vick has prior experience working with current NYJ OC Marty Mornhinweg.  Whether it’s McCown or Vick (or even Sanchez), it’s clear Geno Smith will have competition for the starting QB position in 2014.  A guy who won’t need to worry about competition in 2014, Nick Folk!  The Jets placed the franchise tag on their “Folk Hero” giving him a raise from about $780K to nearly $3.5M.  He may’ve received a raise, but didn’t get that long-term deal he was looking for.

In the Great Debate, we table our usual back-and forth, and get into a topic we should all be concerned about… player safety!  We’re not just talking professional football players, but players of all ages, and especially the youngest, and most vulnerable.  We’re honored to be joined again by Dr. Steven Novicky, the founder of ShockStrip, Inc., and creator of the shockstrip.  We discuss his specialized exterior helmet pads, and how they increase an athlete’s level of protection by decreasing the force of impact in helmet-to-helmet contact.  We have the opportunity to congratulate Dr. Novicky on receiving a notice of allowance from the U.S. Patent and Trade Office, which listed shockstrips as “Enhanced Impact Absorption Strips for Protective Headgear.”  We hope you enjoy the very informative conversation on this week’s edition of the Green And White Show with Joseph Haas and Amiri Tulloch!
