The Pittsburgh Steelers have had a great run, but they're not winning their third Super Bowl in six years on Sunday.
It doesn't really matter how you get to the Super Bowl, as long as you get there right?
Yes and no. I give the Steelers a ton of credit for getting to where they are now. But I was reminiscing about one of my favorite regular season games of the year, and I can't stop thinking about this hilarious moment.
Do you remember this play from the Steelers week 12 game agains the Bills?
Bills wide receiver Stevie Johnson dropped the easiest of touchdown catches IN OVERTIME in what would've been a victory over the eventual AFC Champion Steelers.
Now, I know every team has shitty losses or shitty near-losses to teams they should easily beat, but COME ON. The Steelers eventually won that game and ended up with home field advantage through the playoffs once New England lost.
That's literally the biggest break you could possibly get. Johnson's drop was his fifth of the game! The best part of that video is Fitzpatrick's reaction topped off with the lineman thinking they'd won. Good times.
Stevie Johnson put the cherry on top after the game with this legendary tweet:
" I PRAISE YOU 24/7!!!!!! AND THIS HOW YOU DO ME!!!!! YOU EXPECT ME TO LEARN FROM THIS??? HOW???!!! ILL NEVER FORGET THIS!! EVER!!! THX THO... "
I only wish the late, great George Carlin was alive to hear that. He would've gotten a kick out of an athlete blaming God for once.
At any rate, I'm not about to say that the football gods will punish the Steelers by making them lose on Sunday to make up for Stevie Johnson's butterfingers, but who knows?
The Packers are a damn good football team, and they've got a hell of a quarterback who I think is about to get a championship ring to match that championship belt touchdown celebration.
I got the Pack 27-20 on Sunday. Stevie Johnson won't feel vindicated, but he'll get his revenge for giving the Steelers a game they didn't deserve to win.
Ok, ok. I gotta watch it one more time. It's so funny.
